Decision was announced during the virtual meeting of IATA’s General Assembly in Amsterdam
The General Assembly of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) has elected His Excellency Eng. Ibrahim bin Abdulrahman Al-Omar, Director General of Saudi Arabian Airlines (SAUDIA), to serve as a member of the IATA Board of Governors for a period of three years. Following his election, His Excellency Eng. Ibrahim Al-Omar stated that he takes great pride in the trust granted to him by the members of IATA’s General Assembly. He stressed that this trust reflects the strong position of the Kingdom’s national carrier among the world’s major airlines, as well as its influential and pioneering role within the industry and commitment to the safety standards and operating methods approved by IATA.
The International Air Transport Association includes nearly 290 airline members from 120 countries across the world, which together generate 82% of global air traffic. Saudi Arabian Airlines plays a vital role in the world air transport industry as an IATA-authorized training center.
